Snow Day In Maine
It wasn't supposed to snow while we were in Maine. I've been checking the weather every day, hoping it would. The forecast called for maybe freezing rain tonight. But when I got up at 6:45 this morning and walked down the hall, Tammy whispered up the stairs to me that it was snowing!
I debated for all of a minute on whether I should wake the girls up. :)
By 7:00 we were dressed and out the door, sledding, having snowball fights and drawing in the snow.

New York City
We decided to change up our trip to Maine for Thanksgiving this year. We thought it would be fun to take the girls to New York City first. We flew to New York and spent 4 days in the city before renting a car and driving up North.

Three Story Ferris Wheel In Toys R Us
16 Year old mini-carnie dropout made us ride in this one
They wanted to ride in the My Little Pony cart

Second Row Seats to Mary Poppins on Broadway!

These pictures are from Battery Park
Girls loved feeding the birds after checking out the Statue of Liberty

Went to the observation deck of the Empire State Building
Gina was not panicked at any point, especially when the girls were looking over the edge here ;)

The girls loved Central Park, especially climbing the rocks
We were there during sunset
Wish we could have explored the whole park

Big Stuff!!
It was cold today. And windy too. I hate the cold.
The kids were really wanting to go outside and play. I said no.
I really hate the cold.
But they persisted, and I gave in. I'm so glad I did!
Out of nowhere, Amelia asked to try riding on Abigail's bike, only if I PROMISED to hold on the whole time. Well of course I did no such thing. Once she started peddling, I let go and she just kept on going!
And now,
Amelia can officially ride a two wheeler!!!!!!!!

:(
"I wish I was four again. That way I wouldn't have to go to school. School's not my favorite part of life." -Abigail
Regret
Abigail: "I really wish I still had a calendar."
Me: "Where is the one you had?"
Abigail: "Umm, it was princesses, remember I don't like princesses anymore!"
(Apparently she threw the calendar away. I guess she really is over princesses. :)

Next Step, Toddlers and Tiaras!!
I joke. We won't be doing any beauty pageants around here, but the girls did model outfits in a fashion show for one of our favorite boutiques in town. When I asked the girls if they wanted to be in a fashion show, Abigail said "Mom, I've been wanting to do that my WHOLE life!"
I thought for sure when the time came, the girls would get nervous, but they were absolutely adorable, smiled the whole time, and loved the attention they got from everyone.

Honestly?
Do I have to do everything you say in life? It makes life difficult. -Abigail (in response to me telling her to put on her jammies)

This One Hurt My Heart
About a half hour after the girls should have been asleep, I heard Abigail calling me. I asked her what she needed. She said it was Amelia who needed me because she was sad. I came in to find Amelia sitting in her bed crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said, through the saddest little sobs, "I don't want to grow up to be big and be a mom. Because then I'll have to leave you."
I'm not sure what prompted that train of thought, but I snuggled up in bed with her and reassured her it was going to be a long time before she was going to be grown up. I told her that she was always going to be my baby no matter how big she got and that, if she chose to, I'd never make her leave. :) I think that made her happy and she fell asleep shortly after that.

Oh My
Me: If you're not using your DS, then turn it off. (while playing a game of go fish)
Abigail: I am. I'm multitasking. I can do a hundred things at once.
Me: If you don't get your scooter out of the kitchen, I'm going to throw it away! (after asking her quite a few times to do so)
Abigail: Dad payed money for our scooters. That would be like throwing away money and I expect that you probably don't want to do that.
Me: Let's go out and swim in the pool.
Abigail: How many times are you going to try to force me to do that?
Me: It's gorgeous out!
Abigail: You always say that.
