Search For Pets

We've been dog sitting our friends Rich and Tarzah's little toy poodle mix named Boo this week. The girls are loving having her around and have started asking to get a puppy of their own. I told Abigail when she asked me for one today that I was pretty certain we would NOT be getting another dog. She said, "Mom, when I get big, I'm going to Google your blog and see how many pets I wanted and I'm going to have that many. When I'm big I won't have to ask you to have pets, right Mom?"

Swim Lessons

Today was the first day of swim lessons. The girls did great! They did all the normal things, blowing bubbles, going under, floating on their back, and kicking. The parents were asked to watch from a balcony above the pool so most of my pictures were not close up. :(

"I liked swim lessons. I was thirsty and cold and I had to go potty a lot."

Abigail

"I like swim lesson. It was very fun. We had a lollipop at the end."

School's In Session

"I was teaching school to the dolls. They were learning letters, math, words and how to draw moose animals. I did the whole alphabet in order. I was writing Belle, Cinderella, tent and ten." - Abigail

"Score! It's Raining!"

One Amelia's favorite gifts from her birthday was an umbrella with matching rain boots. She's had them on for three days straight, waiting for a chance to wear them outside in the rain. While it has been raining here, it's also been thundering and lightning, keeping us inside. So when the sun finally came out this afternoon, Amelia was pretty excited to get a chance to go puddle jumping.

The Effect of Advertising on Young Minds

I had the tv on HGTV's House Hunters while also getting the girls into jammies and ready for bed. When Will walked into the room he was bombarded by this:

"Daddy, on Vonage you can lower down your bills of the price" - Abigail

"You can buy Edible Arrangements. It makes your house beautiful and you can eat it." - Amelia

*This was just from the two minutes of commercials in between.

Soul Mates??

Buoy is a yellow lab that lives across the street from us. She's basically the female version of Guinness. She's equally obsessed with fetching and she's so adorable. Whenever we are out with Guinness, Buoy will come out to play too. These two were meant for eachother. If only Guinness knew he was a dog....

Veggie Garden

We decided to plant the garden directly in the ground this year. As you can see, the "soil" is sand. We added our own soil and went to planting. I made the mistake of not wearing shoes when the girls were shoveling. Good news: I still have eight and a half toes for next year. We set up the drip system too for easy watering. We'll keep you all posted.
