On Saturday Afternoon
After running an errand
We decided to stay a night
At the Emerald Grande
We took in the sights
And did some relaxin'
Our clothes on our backs
Were all we had packed in
Our two little brave ones
Dove in, No surprise
Then after our brunch
They made some tie-dyes
So maybe we are crazy
On spontaneous vacation
But try it and see
What your mental state's in

Bedtime With Adam

Will's friend Adam is in town for the weekend and he's spending the night at our house. The girls immediately warmed up to him. Abigail told me that he was her "new friend." The girls asked him to read them their bedtime story and he accepted. They sweet talked their way into getting a second book and picked one of our favorites, FOX IN SOX. That book always makes us laugh with all its silly tongue twisters. The girls laughed when he messed up and cheered for him when he got it right. What a guy! Hopefully he won't mind sleeping in a twin bed in a very pink room.

Eat Your Veggies
Not that the girls have a problem eating their vegetables, but I think even the pickiest kid would eat these cute things. We found this adorable (and very cheap) cake mold pan at Williams Sonoma yesterday. Making the cake was the first thing on our list of things to do today. The girls pitched in with the prepping and the mixing and even crunched up the cookies for the "dirt". They watched me decorate the cakes while they snacked on candy and frosting. And Voila!! These cakes were so much fun to do. They turned out far better than I'd imagined and tasted pretty good too.

Rainy Day Fun
"Well, It was raining and pouring and time for umbrellas for everyone. All the kids on this wet day got a turn on the bicycle ride." -Abigail

"Funner Than Regular Fun"
Through The Eyes Of A Three Year Old

Amelia has really been having fun playing with the camera and taking pictures lately. I give her the camera (digital camera's are the best) and she'll take pictures till the battery dies. I love seeing what she comes back with. She'll take candid shots and shots she sets up herself. She'll arrange things just the way she wants, takes the shot and then says "Got It".

There's a story behind that last picture and it makes me laugh that she took a picture of it(I think). I always joke and say I need to have a parallel blog of the stuff that goes on in between the cute and funny things the girls do. The stuffing mess on the floor, that's from the couch cushion. It was, at one point, in a nice little pile on the floor and I told the girls to stay away from it. Needless to say, they didn't stay away from it. The reason why there was couch stuffing on the floor: Amelia was watching a cartoon and must have gotten a little too distracted and peed on the couch. Of course she didn't say boo to me and it wasn't until I went to pick her up that I realized she had done it. I had to take the couch apart to clean the cover, hence the stuffing pile.

Breaking The Law

We went to buy the mattresses for Amelia's new bed today. I thought they would fit into the back of my Expedition fine without me having to move the girls' car seats. I was wrong and there was no way they were fitting in the car without taking the car seats out. I suppose I could have just gone home without them and had the company deliver them the next day, but the girls and I were too excited to set up the new bed. So I decided we'd be okay, just this one time, to not ride in a car seat or even a buckle. Abigail was a little leery at first of not being in her car seat, but quickly got over it and giggled with her sister in their little "cave" the whole way home.

Here's some pictures of the new bed. It's the exact same one as the other bed. :) I wanted to have the option of the girls sharing a room. I have very fond memories of sharing a bedroom with my sisters and I wanted the girls to have the same. It's also an extra bed for when we have company (Megs and Tam, that bed has your name on it) and someday for a friend of the girls to sleep in.
