Impromptu Trip
I've been wanting to take a trip to Atlanta since moving into our new house. We need furniture and I've been looking all over the Panhandle with no luck. I had hopes of finding some great deals at the Pottery Barn outlet. So when we got an invitation in the mail to a surprise birthday party for Will's good friend Jim (from college) we decided to go. We left after Abigail's ballet on Saturday and less than 24 hours later we were back home. I didn't find anything at the outlet (sob sob) but we did have a great time visiting Jim and Heather and their two little girls, Meg and Kate. Saturday night I even left the girls with a babysitter, WHO. I'VE. NEVER. MET, to go out to dinner! Gasp. The girls loved it, could barely take a second to say goodbye, and were perfect angels the whole time we were gone.

Time To Break Out The Bathing Suits

Today was the first day all week that's it has been warm enough (for us) to go to the beach. I let the girls ride their bikes to get some extra exercise. It was a gorgeous, sunny 70 degrees out. We walked and played for a long time, until we came to a stream running down the beach. Once the girls got their feet wet, any hopes I had of them keeping their clothes dry were gone. The next time we go to the beach, I'm putting swimsuits on them.

They had so much fun they didn't even complain about the wet, sandy ride home.

She's Crafty

I made a tree! Not just any tree, a magnetic tree! I saw this idea in Pottery Barn Kids and loved it. But at $159, especially in these tough economic times, I didn't want to spend that much. I decided I could make the same thing (maybe even cuter) for a lot cheaper. So, with a little help from Will and the girls, I went to work. I got all the supplies at Home Depot, even the magnetic paint for $48. It took about two days to finish, and most of that was just letting paint dry.

Warning: May Offend Southerners
*Holladeen is what Abigail calls Paula Dean from Food Network. She has a very strong Southern accent.

Open For Business

"Today I was doing a book store. I did a lot of good business and I got a lot of cash. Some of my books were free and Bunny did all telling the people what was true about the store. One of the Eagles did writing and one Eagles told the people who were shipping my books, if I had enough books. I was telling my customers the price about the books. Amelia came to my store to buy books. Even though some were free, I got a lot of cash." -Abigail

Wapapo
"I'll show you what Wapapo did, follow me." - Amelia said with a frown. She then showed us the Lego building we built earlier that was destroyed. We are pretty sure it was not actually the work of Wapapo.

Footsteps Away

(Amelia's footprints)
It's so nice being this close to the beach. We've been down almost everyday. It's been sunny and in the 70's all week. We've had fun collecting shells and looking at all the fun things washed up on shore. We found a coconut yesterday!!
There is also a TON of the bluest jellyfish all over the beach. Abigail was very concerned for them and did her best to push a lot of them back into the water.
