New Years Eve

Tonight we celebrated New Years at home. We toasted the year and all it's memories, but also to the closing on our house that we had today! If we were having any doubts they were quickly washed away by being able to see fireworks out of the third story window.

Our First Day In The New House

Thankfully the weather has been gorgeous all weekend so we decided to take a little break from unpacking to enjoy the outdoors. We live in such a neat little place. We are withing walking distance to everything but it feels like a quiet little beach community where we are. The best part is that we are within a three minute walk to the Gulf of Mexico! I couldn't be happier.

Amelia is loving the pool. She keeps asking if it's warm enough to go swimming. Even though it is 70 degrees outside and I know a few crazy Mainers who'd be in that pool, I told her she'd have to wait a few more months before she can go in.

The picture on the left is right at the end of our new driveway. You see the tall condiminium in the background? Right behind that is the ocean. We are sooo close to the beach. The water was really choppy and tonight we could hear the waves crashing on the beach from inside our house.

This is Paradise!

Moving Day

Big sigh....Two days after Christmas and our house is all packed up and ready to go. Thankfully we had lots of help from family and friends and the move was relatively easy. Everyone kept saying there was going to be a lot more stuff than I was thought but it wasn't until I hit the garage that I started believing it. We got it all done though and the old house is completely empty. It's a little weird but we are all excited about the new house. Now the hard part. Unpacking everything and setting it all up at the new place. Ugh.

The Price of Being Bad

After being taken out of the bathtub for too much splashing, Abigail and Mommy had this conversation.
Mommy: Now you have to get out of the bathtub for not behaving yourself.
Abigail: I am never going to behave myself.
Mommy: That's going to make it hard on you.
Abigail: What about when you're in the middle of something and I'm bad, then it will be hard on you.
Gotta admit, she has a point. I thought we had ten ten years before she figured this out.

These Shoes AREN'T Made For Walking

...Not very easily anyway.
Amelia was cracking herself and me up attempting to walk in my very high high heels

Bells are about to ring!

The girls singing their version of Jingle Bells.

I tried to tell Abigail it was "bells on bob tails ring" but she said she liked her way better.

Christmas Cookies

The girls got plenty of practice making cookies in Maine, so when it came time to make our own cookies they were ready to go. Abigail did an awesome job rolling out all the snowball cookies into perfect little balls and measuring the ingredients. Amelia had fun rolling out the dough for her "favorite lemon cookies" and also testing the batter for the chocolate Christmas trees.

We Wish Ewe A Merry Christmas

After Abigail's ballet on Saturday, we went to breakfast right by the mall. In the mall parking lot there was a big sheep and donkey pen set up (they do this every year at Christmas time for a live nativity show). When we were done eating we walked over to look at the animals. We happened to know the guy who owns them, so he let the girls in the pen. The animals were all so sweet and friendly. We had so much fun petting and feeding them. Now we just have to figure out a way to keep them all in our backyard. :)
