She Sure Has Been In A Mood Lately
(just a few of the many fresh things Abigail has said this weekend)
Abigail: "I don't feel like being reasonable right now. Maybe later or tomorrow I will."
Me: "I think piano music is nice and relaxing."
Abigail: "I think it's nice and weird. It makes me sleepy and want to cry."
Amelia: "Tinkerbell is going on an adventure."
Abigail: "In the dumpster I hope."

She Forgot To Draw The Picture Of Daddy's Poker Winnings
The girl's cousin Macie had a softball tournament in Biloxi the same weekend as Will's birthday. Will and I hadn't been to Biloxi together since the kids were born. We used to go pretty often. It's just a short drive, a little over 3 hrs, so we decided it would be a fun weekend getway. Abigail documented the trip for us in drawings.
Just Chute Me
Well over a month ago, for Will's step mom's birthday, the whole family went to Big Kahunas water park. The girls had a blast playing in the water and being able to ride on some of the bigger kid slides this year. After the water park some of the grown ups and a few of the older grandkids got treated to a parasailing trip. I'm pretty sure when someone asked if Abigail could go (Amelia wasn't old enough) I said something like "there's not enough drugs out there to allow me to let her do something like that!"
Well, somehow I let her go, sans drugs. There were 8 family members that went in all and there was only room on the boat for the people parasailing. So I stayed back with Amelia and tried to not to think of all the things that could go wrong.
An hour later Abigail came back absolutely beaming. She has so much fun and wasn't scared at all! At the highest point William and her were 400 feet in the air!! The coolest thing to her was being able to see her school's water tower.

Eat Your Heart Out Mary Lou
(I think Abigail already has longer legs than most of the Olympic gymnasts)
The girls had their first gymnastics class tonight and they absolutely loved it! The class was an hour long and they were not ready to leave when it was over. They did lots of stretches and then worked on balance beams. They will switch to a new apparatus every week. For never taken a gymnastics class before, they did great!

On Second Thought
So the girls had an asbolute BLAST at the open gym! They played for over three hours and came home exhausted. Not a minute has gone by without them talking about what they can do and what they want to learn. I think we are going to sign them up for tumbling classes one day a week.
Tonight rolls around and we've been discussing going to Baytowne Wharf. There's a play area and a few kids activities. When we asked her if she wanted to go, she thought for a moment and said this:
"I'm going to say yes, 'cause whenever I say no, I always have fun."
We call these learning moments............

Friday Night
"For real? I'm not doing that. I'd rather sit here and write my alphabet thirteen times!" - Abigail
And she wasn't laughing. Apparently the idea of going to "open gym" isn't so appealling.....

No Excuse
I don't have an excuse for not blogging this Summer. We really haven't done much... The girls have been total homebodies!! We've been invited on countless play dates, swim dates and movie outings, but the girls just want to stay home. They've played in their playroom and swam in the pool. But mostly they've colored, and colored and then colored some more. Those kids LOVE to draw! I joke and say we're single handedly destroying the rain forests with the amount of paper they use.
I have barely taken any pictures this Summer :( Here's just a couple of random ones.

A Little Phone Shy
The girls uncle Colton called them tonight to ask a few questions about a Mario game they've all been playing . They really don't talk on the phone that much... prefering to text like their Mom. ;) . Abigail stood in front of the mirror the whole time, while Amelia chose to sit in the hallway. It cracked me up to watch them

Good Night, I Love You, Have Sweet Dreams
There is a definite routine to putting the girls to bed. After brushing teeth and reading books, Will and I tuck the girls in. We pile all six of Abigail's bunnies up next to her and cover her with her blanket. We give Amelia her "perfect spread" and make sure Hedgefund is tucked just so (head inside the little pocket of his blankie so he can sleep). Then the lights go out. And then we give a few more "one more" kisses and hugs. Lately Amelia has added "Good night, I love you, have sweet dreams" into the repertoire. She says it to me, then Abigail and then Will. And once we all say it back, verbatim, she falls asleep.

Both girls has been reading so much lately. It used to be at bedtime I'd read them a story, now each night they pick a book and read on their own.
Abigail is BIG into Junie B Jones, having already finished the whole Kindergarten series and is now halfway through the first grade ones. Amelia has finished all the BOB books and a bunch of beginning readers. Lately she has been reading Dr. Sues. After finishing up a few pages from Put Me In The Zoo, I asked her what her Kindergarten teacher was gonna think when she found out how well she could read. Abigail answered for her in her typical witty way with, "OMG!".

July 4th
As soon as the girls woke up they started singing Amelia's infamous "I love fourf of July song". They got dressed in red, white and blue and then we headed to Papa's (Will's dad) house. After a full day of swimming, eating and playing with cousins, we all went out on the boat to watch the fireworks. Papa anchored the boat so close to where they were launching the fireworks. It's definitely the closest we've been to fireworks, perhaps a little too close for the girls liking...
On the boat ride back home Amelia was very thirsty, and having not packed our own cooler all that was on the boat was soda. After some serious begging, I let Amelia have a Sprite. After a few sips she started singing "I love Sprite" to the tune of "I love fourf of July"!!
