Baby Hedge Fund the 2nd

The replacement for Amelia's lost bunny came in the mail today! Amelia says she loves it, he's just "a little fluffier" than her first Hedge Fund.

She looks like Aunt Nicole to me in this picture. :)

MONUMENTALLY HUGE

We had a wedding to go to, and even though kids were invited, I thought the girls would have much more fun playing at Grandma's.
We're not big planners around here. We had asked Grandma in advance if she was free to watch them that night, but it wasn't until a few hours before the wedding we made the decision to bring them to her house. I knew we'd be out past bedtime so I told the girls it was an option for them to spend the night. We quickly packed up a bag with their night stuff just in case.....

They stayed the whole night, the first time they have EVER been away from me overnight!!!! And I only called a few times to check in on them ;) I missed them a TON, but I knew they were having fun, making wonderful memories and whether I liked it or not, being independent. I'm proud of them and proud of myself too.

Baby Hedge Fund

Amelia's favorite stuffed animal, Baby Hedge Fund, is missing. She's a white bunny, about eight inches tall if you see her. She was last seen in her rocket that resembles a plastic bottle. Earlier in the day, she was flying around the yard as if everything was fine.

Sometime around 2:oo CST, she made her fateful atmospheric re-entry and landed her rocket on the rear bumper of dad's car. She remained there until Dad ran to the grocery store. We found the rocket the next day, rolled flat as a pancake in the street within a block of our house, but no sign of Hedge Fund. The girls made 'lost' signs, but so far no tips have been called in.

Coincidentally, or maybe not, we met this bunny late last night. He visited the house again today, and again later this evening. Through rigorous empirical evidence and the scientific method, we have proven conclusively that this is indeed Baby Hedge Fund. No need to look too hard for those of you that might have been worried.

Sarcasm Isn't That Funny When Your Daughter Gets All Literal With You

Me: Why do I have to put this tent (in the playroom) back together 8 million times a day?
Abigail: I really don't think it's that many times.

The Big 5

The day started with Amelia getting woken up by cousin Molly and a fun balloon from Dad!

Then at school her birthday happened to be the same day as the Spring party, which was also the last day of school before Spring break!

After school Grandma came over and took her, along with Abigail and cousin Macie, on a shopping spree!

Then we had her favorite dinner, quiche and then had cake and gifts.
Amelia is all about hamsters right now. She wanted an ice cream cake with a hamster theme. The end result wasn't very pretty, but it tasted ok and Amelia was happy with it.

The Big 6

You've grown, but you haven't changed.
Six years ago you made your entrance.
You still have that same sparkle in your eye you had that day.
You know how to read now.
And your sense of humor is a bit more developed.
School has shown you how to meet new friends.
And how they can hurt your feelings.
But your soul is the same.
Your thoughtfulness and love.
Your smile and your glow.

Happy birthday to the best six year old in the world! -Love Mom and Dad

Ugh

The girls were both still sick this morning, a week since their coughs started. Abigail woke up in the middle of the night last night complaining of an ear ache. I decided to take them both to the pediatrician this morning.

The diagnosis....double ear infections for both girls and Amelia has asthma. Ugh.

We have company coming this weekend. Here's hoping they will be better by then. I'm breaking out the Lysol right now.

Another One Bites The Dust

I was sooo hoping that Abigail wasn't going to get the same thing Amelia had. She's already had a cough for a week, and now she's got the fever.

Odd that both girls ran the same exact temperature...

Homemade Valentines

This is the second year in a row that we've made these adorable mouseValentines, an idea we got from Aunt Robin.

They are totally cute, easy to make and always a big hit!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

It's sleeting. In Florida. Right now!!!

The pictures aren't great. I grabbed my camera, grabbed Abigail out of bed, ran out and ran back in as quickly as I could. It's cold out! But, you can sorta see the ice on the railing.

Button, Button, Whose Got The Button?

The girls were being especially wild tonight, running around the house playing a game of tag. I suggested they play a quieter game. They asked me what to play and the first thing that popped into my head was a game I used to play with my sisters when I was little called button, button, whose got the button (I'm not sure where this game came from). We'd all sit on the bottom step of the stairs in my parents house. One sister would be "it". They'd hold a button in one of their hands and we'd have to guess which one it was in. If we got it right, we'd move up a stair, working our way to the top step. Whoever made it to the top first was the winner!

The girls mastered the object of the game quickly. Abigail was a bit competitive at first (there may have been some pushing involved). Dad stepped in to "help" while I sat back, took pictures and reminisced about the fun times I had playing this game with my sisters!
