Our Beach

We played in the bay
Where the hermit crabs lurk
We ran out of towels
But Daddy will work

We cleaned up the sharp things
When we went for our walk
Even Kellie and Tim
Stopped by for a talk

We love our "private beach"
Away from the masses
If we ever buy the lot
We hope no one trespasses

Art Work

Abigail's drawing of a horse (perhaps inspired by her trip to the barn yesterday??)

If You Fill It, They Will Come

Fill up the bird feeder until it's "absolutely filled up". Hang it up. Then wait for the birds to come. She spots a red-winged blackbird.

A Day at the Farm (in the middle of town)

The weather wasn't quite nice enough for the beach so we decided to go out to Papa's "farm". He has a pen full of egg-laying chickens. The girls collected a few of the defectable morsels. (That's what Abigail called them. I think she meant delectable, but we were still impressed.)

The horses enjoyed the treats we found around the barn. The grounds were full of beautiful wild flowers. Flower picking was definitely the favorite thing today. Amelia made the same wish on every dandelion. "I wish for my very own flower."

It's so nice to have a little piece of the country right here in our town. We love that we can go there whenever we want.

Late Night Crafting??

Abigail needed a little pick me up, "bunny tea" as she calls it. (It is really pink hot cocoa)

Something fishy's going on

Amelia turned three!!! We did a goldfish themed party. Tammy made the invitations and both the girls outfits. We had fish and chips for dinner and a yummy fishy birthday cake.

We even got a real goldfish. Not sure how long he'll last though. He looks awfully sad in that bowl.

Will cooked all the fish and fries to perfection. Thanks again honey.

Amelia isn't much of a poser, this is the best shot I got of the whole outfit. There are more fishies on the jeans hiding under the dress.

All in all a good party.

Traditions

For the last three years the night before Easter we go over to Will's dad's house to make Easter eggs. They supply the eggs and dyes for the kids to use. Everyone joins in and we all have a great time. The next day we use them for deviled eggs in the Easter lunch.

Yard Work

It seems like the leaves fall all year round in Florida. It's been pretty windy here for the last week so it was time AGAIN to rake up the leave.

Before After
After 3 hours of work I'm not even sure you can even tell the difference. At least I had some cute little helpers to make the job not so bad. Nice work girls.

Construction Junction

Think we should go play???

This thing is fun!!!

Now let's go build something (squirrel feeders) .

Bang, Bang, Bang !!!

I think we are ready to drive Grampas.

Our fair grounds puts this on every year. There is plenty to do and the kids had a great time.

Fun in the Sun

We met up with Jane, Ed and Daniel at the beach the other day. I started nannying for them when Daniel was only 1 1/2. He'll be 11 on Amelia's birthday!! I am so happy that I am still able to see their family (the triplets were in Europe so I didn't see them this time) and that my own girls will know them as well.

Litte Chefs

It was pretty quiet around here this morning and the girls were missing the entertainment of their older cousins. But they are quite resouceful and like always found something fun (and a little messy) to do.
